Ok so life without the trainer is proving hard!

I managed two visits to the gym last week, but trying to remember what on earth I was meant to be doing there was a whole other ball game!

Not only did my sheet of instructions twice hit the running machine and go flying off into space, but my ability to recall what the list of exercise names actually meant was a complete no no…

Still I got my weights and fit ball and pretended to look as if I knew what I was doing. (Much to the amusement of the two girls on the rowing machines).

I was almost glad to be struck down with a sickness bug mid training week so that I couldn’t complete the three sessions. Not the right attitude I know, but running really sucks LOL.

To make up for it I’m off to the gym tonight to re run the 5k, and no matter how much of a pratt I look the 46mins will be beaten. If you are thinking that that isn’t punishment enough, then fear not. The plan is to go swimming before work tomorrow. Yes that’s right before! Crazy UK!

Over and Out

It’s been a week since I did any form of training, but in my defence I’ve been a wee bit poorly etc etc blah blah blah.
Still I’d well and truly run out of excuses by today, so trundled down to the gym for the third part of my programme… the full 5k
Dun dun dun…. Well it was a breeze, I don’t know what I was worried about. Started off at a fair pace, and built up to a nice sprint at the end. My time was 30mins – bingo!
Haha as if!
First up I managed to pick the only machine in the place with a dodgy clock (good one brains). Second up I still get scared running on those damn machines!!! However I managed a fast pace walk, with a rather chicken like jog at the end… 46mins is the time to beat. It is as I keep reminding myself only attempt one but still at least I didn’t do a Goody :p

xXx

Who decided that exercise was good for you? Well they lied… big time!
It’s one thing for you to have a slight ache the day after, but when that stretches to two days and interferes in my tea drinking it becomes wrongness of the highest level.
Hmm anyway so I survived the day, drinking tea like one of those nodding dogs you can buy for your car but instead of being able to veg on the sofa and recover it was time for part two of the PT pain.
What joy!
Luckily todays session was all about the legs, unluckily it once again involves balancing with weights on a fitball… enough already LOL.
Ahh to be a fly on the wall in my gym…
xXx

Oh.my.God
Personal trainers are evil…. Evil, evil, evil!
Due too my severe lack of fitness Alec my trainer decided that my one hour training session should be spilt into two half hour sessions… however if you think that’s a good thing, think again! Double the trauma, double the pain ;o)
Today ‘s session was focusing on the muscles in my arms… erm what muscles!?!? It involved some very delicate balancing on a fitball whilst waving weights about in the air like some mad fairy. How on Earth am I expected to do this solo without landed arse over tit on the matt? If the workout was designed as a ploy to make Jen look like an idiot… it was working ;o)
Still I survived the session in tact (although very, very feebly) and even managed to top it off with 15mins on the tredmill followed by 10mins on the bikes.
We shall see how my body copes with all this tomorrow…
xXx
