Life without the trainer..

Ok so life without the trainer is proving hard!

I managed two visits to the gym last week, but trying to remember what on earth I was meant to be doing there was a whole other ball game!

Not only did my sheet of instructions twice hit the running machine and go flying off into space, but my ability to recall what the list of exercise names actually meant was a complete no no…

Still I got my weights and fit ball and pretended to look as if I knew what I was doing. (Much to the amusement of the two girls on the rowing machines).

I was almost glad to be struck down with a sickness bug mid training week so that I couldn’t complete the three sessions. Not the right attitude I know, but running really sucks LOL.

To make up for it I’m off to the gym tonight to re run the 5k, and no matter how much of a pratt I look the 46mins will be beaten. If you are thinking that that isn’t punishment enough, then fear not. The plan is to go swimming before work tomorrow. Yes that’s right before! Crazy UK!

Yes it’s week one, and yes I’m being lame already!
It’s been a week since I did any form of training, but in my defence I’ve been a wee bit poorly etc etc blah blah blah.
Still I’d well and truly run out of excuses by today, so trundled down to the gym for the third part of my programme… the full 5k
Dun dun dun…. Well it was a breeze, I don’t know what I was worried about. Started off at a fair pace, and built up to a nice sprint at the end. My time was 30mins – bingo!
Haha as if!
First up I managed to pick the only machine in the place with a dodgy clock (good one brains). Second up I still get scared running on those damn machines!!! However I managed a fast pace walk, with a rather chicken like jog at the end… 46mins is the time to beat. It is as I keep reminding myself only attempt one but still at least I didn’t do a Goody :p
